ASDEX Platform Policies
Understand the guidelines and regulations governing the use of the Autonomous Synthetic Data Exchange.
Important Policy Documents
As a user of the ASDEX platform, it is important to understand and adhere to our policies. Click on any policy to expand and read its full details.
1. Introduction to Selling Synthetic Datasets Policy
This policy outlines the terms and conditions for synthetic data providers ("Sellers") listing and selling synthetic datasets on the ASDEX platform. It ensures fair practices, data quality, and compliance with legal standards for synthetic data exchange. Sellers agree to these terms when listing any dataset.
2. Data Ownership and Licensing
Sellers retain full ownership and intellectual property rights over their original synthetic datasets. By listing data on ASDEX, Sellers grant ASDEX a limited, non-exclusive license to display metadata and facilitate transactions. Buyers receive a license to use the data according to terms defined by the Seller. Users are strictly prohibited from reselling purchased datasets, even if augmented, unless explicitly permitted by the license or representing a transformative new product approved by ASDEX.
3. Pricing, Fees, and Discounting
Sellers set their own "Listed Price." ASDEX charges a 10% transaction fee on all successful sales. This fee is deducted automatically before payout. For assembled packages from multiple sources, the price must cover component dataset costs, with the assembler's earnings coming from their value-add spread. ASDEX may enforce a maximum discount limit (e.g., 20%) on bundled/augmented packages to prevent unfair competition or "poach packaging."
4. Data Compliance and Quality Assurance
Sellers are solely responsible for ensuring their listed synthetic datasets are free from unauthorized Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or proprietary data. ASDEX provides guidelines and resources but relies on seller attestations. Listing non-compliant data is a severe violation, leading to dataset removal, account suspension, and potential legal action. Buyers should report suspected violations, which ASDEX will review.
5. Data Delivery and Escrow
Upon purchase, Sellers are required to upload the dataset copy to ASDEX's secure temporary escrow storage. Buyers access the data via a time-limited token. The escrowed data is automatically deleted after successful download or token expiration. This ensures reliable delivery while managing platform storage efficiently.

1. Permitted Uses of Acquired Data
This policy details the general guidelines for how users (buyers) are permitted to utilize synthetic datasets acquired from the ASDEX platform. Permitted uses typically align with the training, testing, research, and development of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning models.
2. Adherence to Specific Licenses
Users must strictly adhere to the specific licensing terms provided by each individual dataset's seller at the time of purchase. These licenses define the scope of use, including commercial applicability, modification rights, and redistribution limitations.
3. Prohibited Uses
Any use of data acquired from ASDEX for illegal, unethical, discriminatory, or malicious purposes is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, attempts at re-identification of individuals from synthetic data, or using data in a way that violates any applicable laws or regulations.
4. Reporting Misuse
Users are encouraged to report any suspected misuse or violation of data usage policies or licensing terms by other users. ASDEX reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action against policy violations.

2. Prohibited Activities
Users are prohibited from engaging in activities such as harassment, spamming, misrepresentation, attempting unauthorized access to the platform or other users' accounts, transmitting malware, or any action that disrupts the platform's integrity or functionality. This includes creating or uploading content that is illegal, offensive, or infringing on intellectual property rights.
3. Account Integrity
Users must maintain the security of their account credentials and are responsible for all activities that occur under their account. Impersonation of other users or ASDEX staff is strictly forbidden.
4. Compliance with Laws

1. Purpose of Moderation
This policy details ASDEX's approach to content moderation, ensuring that all data listings, user-generated content (e.g., reviews, forum posts), and user conduct comply with our platform policies and legal requirements.
2. Reporting Violations
Users can report suspected violations of any ASDEX policy, including the presence of unauthorized PII or proprietary data in synthetic datasets, or violations of acceptable use. Clear channels for reporting are provided within the platform.
3. Review Process
ASDEX employs a review process for reported content. This involves assessing the reported content against our policies and, where necessary, engaging with the involved parties. AI-powered tools may assist in identifying and flagging potential violations for human review.
4. Enforcement Actions
Consequences for policy violations range from warnings and content removal to temporary account suspension or permanent termination, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation.
